Deerhoof Cover My Bloody Valentine

Thanks Devin!

Deerhoof - "Lose My Breath" (MP3 Link Expired)

Is this new? Or just new to me?

I'm still trying to track down Kevin Shields' Bow Wow remixes for you guys. I just downloaded a Marie Antoinette .zip, so we'll see how that goes.

If you can turn up the Bow Wow Wow tracks, Scott, it'll be a coup even bigger than the K-Fed track.

It's from an EP that Deerhoof just put on their website for free. A few other covers too.

Incidentally, Kevin Shields is currently writing songs with Gemma Hayes (who's second album was overproduced to it's death but who's first record is fucking great). He joined her onstage in London a few months back:

(the news update from May 7th has Kevin news and under media there's a brief live video of Kevin and Gemma playing together)

Quit Your Day Job: Ungdomskulen

The Bergen trio Ungdomskulen play proggy post punk, mixing chops and hooks with a sense of humor. But they don't sound like Primus. When I was in Norway a couple years ago, "Ungdomskulen" seemed to be on everybody's lips (or...

Premature Evaluation: Beck - Modern Guilt

It's been some time since we learned Modern Guilt, Beck Hansen's eighth album, would be some sort of psych rock minimalist '60s trip with Danger Mouse. Since then, we've gotten a look at the old-school jazz/Blue Note-style cover art and...
