Foals Remix The Field

thubmnail icon: Foals Remix The Field

When we posted "The More That I Do," the lead track from Swedish minimal techno whiz Axel Willner, aka The Field, the comments focused on (a) how beautiful it is and (b) that is makes use of the Cocteau Twins' "Lorelei." In this remix by the Foals, you may want to shift gears to the tinnier sound (it feels blanket muffled or rusty), the attempt at loud-soft dance-floor dynamics, and the additional threads of percussion. For all the tweaking, the original's more impressive in its assured approach to the ecstatic. It's from the Fields' second proper full-length Yesterday & Today, which is out in a couple of weeks. This remix is via NME.

To quote Carl from the Simpsons, "Now that's a winning combination!".

The new album is absolutely incredible, tops FHWS for me. Which is NOT an easy accomplishment. Willner outdoes himself.
And I wouldn't even put "The More That I Do" in the top 3 on the six-song long album, so if you weren't totally in love with it, I wouldn't worry.

Love The Field. Love the Foals!

Looking forward to hearing this remix, but I think it will be hard to knock the wonderfully lush 2nd track - Everybody´s Got To Learn Sometime - off of it's perch.

As lookie-here said, the new album is "absolutely Incredible"

Man, I mean, MAN, this album is incredible. Especially that 2nd track that Koodoz mentioned, though The More That I Do is dandy too. This remix is quite ok also. Definitely tops FHWGS for me.

And Sequenced ending the album... Mr. Willner has pulled this thing perfectly. I've only listened to this twice, but immediately after the second time I had to put this on again.

EEEEkkkkks! Stop saying it's better than FHWGS 'cause I haven't heard it yet. :(

Ok, downloaded it and gotta say it's completely unnecessary. Why on earth would an electronic song need a remix?

Anyways, can't wait for this album. From Here We Go Sublime is one of the best electronic albums I've ever heard. Stunning.
