Indie Rockers Sing For The Kids

Paper Bag Records put together a compliation with the goal of making long car journeys more enjoyable for both children and their indie-lovin' parents. It's called See You On The Moon and the eclectic mix is fantastic. From silly (Kid Koala) to somber (Mark Kozelek), there's something for everyone. And, despite the preview below, they're not all covers.

Broken Social Scene - "Puff The Magic Dragon" (MP3 Link Expired)

Will Oldham also recently released a cover of "Puff." Could this be a trend? Keep an eye out for related hipster graffiti.

Anyway, official Moon website with purchase info coming here.

Mark - Is that Terrible Two's album out? I only have a few mp3s, and 1 song on a Blue Collar Distro sampler.

That's a horrible version. It's like a soundtrack for five year old cutters!

Nice track. Another great cover of this was done by Bonnie Prince Billy and Matt Sweeney as a B side. Mad me want to start taking drugs again... or at least light a lighthouse

...here is the original, 7 minute version with extended ending, Broken Social Scene version of "Puff The Magic Dragon" that couldn't be used on the album, oh those powers that be!

enjoy.
