Klaxons Cover Justin Timberlake

When NME's hype machine goes into full gear (as for the genre they dubbed "New Rave") we're immediately on guard. But it's not (necessarily) that we don't trust them, just that their buzz-machine is deafening to the point of drowning out the band. And on first blush we weren't sure about Klaxons and their day-glo, drug-loving gimmick; since then, though, we've come to see them in a new (non-black)light. Between the driving synth-pop of "It's Not Over Yet," the rave punk of "Gravity's Rainbow," and the soulful new-wave injection of "Golden Skans," the band's got us sold on the their full-length debut Myths Of The Near Future. Just not on their ecstatic adjectives like "MDMAzing."

Anyway, Klaxons fans should check out their cover of Timberlake's "My Love." It's a BBC radio rip, but the quality ain't bad, and they nail the vocals, setting it to a "Karma Police" styled, acoustic guit-piano march. We like it, but at this point we're wondering, who doesn't listen to "My Love"? Grab it at i was there (via MOKB).

Klaxons are bloody amazing, thank you so much for this! Never thought I'd be excited about a Justin Timberlake cover...

Sorry man, I NEVER listen to "My Love" or any other JT songs. Just not there yet, no matter how "hip" it may be! So chalk me up as the guy who doesn't listen.

klaxons have some really cool songs but they kinda run their formula into the ground over the course of the album IMO. the first couple times i listened i was really excited about it.. now about half of it seems really skippable. the singles are all still nice though, and this cover is pretty sweet.

come on it's already the album of the year, I really would have liked to hear a record like this in 2006. almost all the songs are potential hits, and the sound is new, as if you were listening to the future.

*raises hand*

I've never heard "My Love." I thought I heard it today, because I got stuck listening to the radio, and I recognized it as Justin Timberlake but...it wasn't. It was some new one? I have no idea. Maybe I'm just too pretentious for my own good, but I still can't stand him, so I didn't exactly listen to the entire thing.

The Klaxons are bringing good things in 2007. Never expected them to cover a Justin Timberlak song though.

The Klaxons are considered to be bringing back the “neo rave”, but to me their sound is so eclectic and not to overuse an overused word, but they just sound cool! Once you hear a few of their sounds you will definitely agree that these guys don’t fit into any specific genre of music. The music is fun, and they are not worried about being classified as “pop” which is also ‘cool’ because real pop should be made of GOOD music, they proved to be this ballsy by doing a cover of Justin Timberlake’s “my love,” Its interesting. Can’t wait to see them Coachella 2007!
