Little Monster & Steve Conte Cover The Beatles

This month saw the release of All Together Now, an album of Beatles covers sung by children and joined by the likes of Grandaddy's Jason Lytle, The Bangles, Rachael Yamagata, and Steve Conte of New York Dolls and The Contes. The Little Monster label is distributing the record in a storybook package, hoping that kids and 'rents will bond over the Fab Four's brilliance during the holidays. But really, this is the perfect opportunity for hipster parents to begin training their kids to out-cool their classmates. 'Tis the season!

Kidzfork has MP3 of Jason "Lytle Monster" Lytle's "All You Need Is Love." Cute. Here's a non-album exclusive of Steve Conte taking lead vox on "Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey." Fun fact: This song is the longest title in the entire Beatles catalogue.

Little Monster (feat Steve Conte) - "Me And My Monkey" (MP3)

If you dig and want some more, here are some Microsoft-friendly streams (sorry Mac people -- we're up a creek, too). Or you can just buy the record here.

Little Monster (feat. The Bangles) - "Good Day Sunshine" (WIN MEDIA)
Little Monster (feat. Rachael Yamagata) - "Here Comes The Sun" (WIN MEDIA)

And while we're spreading the Beatles love, today marks the release of the experimental album LOVE that we told y'all about. Well now you can listen to the entire record before you buy as part of an online listening party by heading here. Once you login, you can add your "pin" to a world map, allowing you to be seen and see all the other proud pin-heads. There's also some video footage of interviews with Paul, Ringo, Yoko, Olivia Harrison, and George Martin about the making of the album.

And in keeping with today's Stereogum spirit, what does Noel Gallagher have to say about the matter? (via NME)

It's a pointless exercise ... (I turned the collection off) after five songs.

Yeah, I picked up a copy of LOVE today and I must say, it ain't bad. It plays more like a greatest hits album with a 5 billion times better tracklisting than the "1" album. It's also pretty freaking cool to hear "Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite!" suddenly kick into the outro of "I Want You (She's So Heavy)". The naysayers (and Noel) need to lighten up.

I lurve some Rachael Yamagata, but only know of her from a duet she did with Rhett Miller. And of course, the Bangles are the poo.

And yet you haven't bothered to post The Feelies' brilliant cover of "Everybody's got Something to Hide Except for Me and My Monkey."
Get on the ball, people

sorta Beatles -related:

Have you heard LMP's "Stars of '69"? Hilarious, and just as successfully nostalgic and crass as Stars on 45.
