Mobius Band Cover Daft Punk, Make Your Valentine's Day Mix Easier

Yes, It's almost Valentine's Day. In that spirit, we've given Mobius Band plenty of love and they've finally returned the favor, the teases. We knew the Brooklyn/Massachusetts-trio could turn a cover the moment they tackled Radiohead for OKX. Now, taking a page from Kanye's book, the lads are covering Daft Punk. Their decidedly less robotic take on "Digital Love" is part of their Love Will Reign Supreme EP, which you'll be able to download tomorrow for free at the band's site. For now, the six-song tracklist and album art, plus "Digital Love" and tour dates after the jump. As far as that photo, looks like "Digital Love" of some sort, but let's hope you spend your V-Day more excitingly than a little liquor in front of the tele.

Mobius Band - "Digital Love" (MP3)

Well done. We're guessing they don't have those Grammy-approved French samplers, but hey. The rest of the love songs:

01 "Razor Love" (originally by Neil Young)
02 "Baby We'll Be Fine" (The National)
03 "True Love Will Find You In The End" (Daniel Johnston)
04 "Mobius Band In A Green Cotton Sweater" (Casiotone For The Painfully Alone)
05 "I'll Keep It With Mine" (Bob Dylan)
06 "Digital Love" (Daft Punk)

coincidence alert: i'm dropping a valentine's day EP tomorrow, too, and it also has "true love will find you in the end" on it. ha. and we all know what happens when two bands have the same idea and one's a little more famous.

This cover REALLY sucks. Especially compared to the original which is so fucking perfect and beautiful.

That fourth chord is WRONG! It ruins the melody completely. What a great idea totally destroyed!

Quit Your Day Job: Ungdomskulen

The Bergen trio Ungdomskulen play proggy post punk, mixing chops and hooks with a sense of humor. But they don't sound like Primus. When I was in Norway a couple years ago, "Ungdomskulen" seemed to be on everybody's lips (or...

Premature Evaluation: Beck - Modern Guilt
