New Air - "Do The Joy"

The first single from Air's Pocket Symphony followup Love 2 doesn't sound especially joyful (or maybe I just don't get the French). "Do The Joy" has a cartoon vibe to it, but its underlayed with something smoother and topped with differently pitched robot and spoken voices. As mentioned, you can have it for your collection if you head to www.aircheology.com, wait around for the animations to go through their cycle, and type in your relevant information.
Love 2 is out 10/6 via 10/6 via Astralwerks. After "Do The Joy," the first proper single will be "Sing Sang Sung," out 8/25. They'll launch a European tour in early 2010 at Casino de Paris then head to North America in the Spring.

oh, that's proper nice. Got kind of a James Bond on valium intro, with those sinewy moogs. These Frenchmen never disappoint - I can't wait to hear the rest of this album

this new song is very good. Takes me back to the weirdness/awesomeness of 10000 Hz Legend.
Score = 3
Amazing is the only word that describes this single. Definetely is a 10000 Hz Legend tune.

Lets have an extended play together

Technically, that's NOT a mp3 file... The iTunes code we get let us download a m4p file, which means it can't be converted to a mp3 file and can't be listened to on my non-iPod mp3 player. I thought Apple let got of this f**kin format... I guess some stupid record label guy screwed up again.

What are Flight Of The Conchords doing on their album cover? ?
Score = -2
This is promising.. I like slightly darker sounding Air. Pocket Symphony greatly disappointed me but I'm hopeful that there's some life in them yet.

@agrokrag - I had this same impression. "Lalo Schifrin on morphine jamming at Sun Ra studio." Fucking sweet!
ps - Is Air in Motown typology?
