New Aluminum Group - Little Happyness

Good news for people who like '60s leaning chamber-pop and trilogy-conclusion news: Chicago-based brothers Frank and John Navin have completed the "Happyness" cycle with Little Happyness. Beloved music man John McEntire's thrown his hat in again to help the Navins realize their happiest dreams, and you can hear it right out front in the drums of the Magnetic Fields-meets-Sea & Cake light jazz-rock lilt of album opener "Milligram Of Happiness," and again on "Paper Crowns (Runaway Bride)." Quick listens show the band's building on the early Merritt synth stuff of More Happyness, pulling in the orchestral pop elements in measured flourishes. There's a full album stream to help while away these final few pre-holiday hours here. Looking for the homerun? Check out "Lovely Day."

Minty Fresh is the fine purveyor of Little Happyness. Those with more than passing knowledge of the project will wanna jump for the album art...
