New Black Angels - "You On The Run"

New Black Angels - "You On The Run"

We've been keeping an eye the Black Angels for a good while now, but the band's dark, Texan psychedelia feels especially sinister on "You On The Run." The loping, garage-fuzzed, Eastern-tinged track comes from the aptly titled Directions To See A Ghost, which follows 2006's Passover just in time for actual Passover. The quintet definitely digs the Velvet Underground and the Doors. If you're a fan of amped and smeary rock 'n' roll of the not-so-cheerful sort, you should definitely dig in.

Directions To See A Ghost is out 5/13 on Light In The Attic.

Sadly we knew that ... but momentarily forgot we're currently in 2008. No more drunk blogging. Fixed.

It sounds cool, but basically like every song on Passover. Which begs the question, how many songs consisting of one D minor chord can a band write before it starts getting old?

I love them so much. They are one of my favorite bands. Directions to see a Ghost is gonna be a great album. I can't wait to see them again.
By the way that pic is missing an Angel.
Jennifer is not in that picture.
