New Bloc Party - "Hunting For Witches (RAC Remix)"

Maybe you love A Weekend In The City so much that you need more versions of its songs. Or, just maybe you dislike A Weekend In The City that you need it infused with grimey, guttural synths to make it work for ya. If this sounds like you, have a listen to The Remix Company's retooling of "Hunting For Witches," which sounds something like the bastard child of Bloc Party and MSTRKRFT.

Bloc Party - "Hunting For Witches (RAC Remix)" (MP3)

Anybody seeing BP this tour? Apparently they brought down the roof at the United Palace Theatre this past weekend. Literally.

That's a pretty good one, though I really liked the DFA 1979 v. Bloc Party mix of "Luno" on Silent Alarm Remixed. That was one of the better full-remix albums I've heard (the new Stars one is awesome, too).

yeah, i saw BP at the Congress in Chicago. Pretty amazing show, I have to say. They are so sincere in what they do that it makes people who go see them appreciate BP even more. All those who keep bashing BP don't realize the complexity of their music

I agree with "mattpoco", this mix sounds an awful lot like "Two More Years". But I feel this mix has a synthier (is that word, whatevs)edge.

Saw BP at the Wiltern (2nd night). I loved the show, and best part was when Kele jumped into the pit for "She hearing Voices". I just love their energy.

Only drag was cos I saw them in LA, there were obnoxious jocks & couples abound downstairs. Perhaps the hipsters and true fans were upstairs. But from where I was standing, it was Abercrombie hell.

And Kele's & Final Fantasy's cover of "Fantasy" was pretty sweet.

I say this as a Bloc Party fan who has seen them thrice: they suck live.

that sounds nothing like anything mstrkrft would make. plus it's not very good in my opinion, but i appreciate the notice.

If this were called "Hunting for Bitches" would it be by the Bloodhound Gang?

I was at the Chicago show, too. Shitty venue, but I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the show. A little math for you:

A Weekend In the City >>>>> Silent Alarm

I saw BP two weeks ago. They're aware that no one's really going for the new stuff so I was pleased with the set list includings lots from Slient Alarm!

They put on a good show mates!

2 things -

1)This sounds NOTHING like the Mstrkrft remix of Two More Years. I don't know what you guys are hearing.

2)Bloc Party are excellent live, regardless of what I think of new material.

The reason why it seems that no one is really going for the new stuff is that (if you listen carefully) alot of the stuff is about living in Britain at the moment. Apart from 'Where Is Home?' and 'Kreuzberg' which can be connected life in any country.

Sorry if that seems like I am hogging Bloc Party but I believe is true. I saw them live in April in Plymouth, England. And they are easily the best thing I have ever seen live.
