New Brad Laner - "From Inside (Epstein Remix)"
Liking what we've seen and heard from ex-Medicine man Brad Laner's first LP under his own name (previous post-Medicine stuff was as Electric Company). Brad's moved mainly to melodic, wispy psych excursions on Neighbor Singing for which the sublime "From Inside" comes as a penultimate lullaby. Brad commissioned Epstein (aka Roberto Lange, Prefuse 73's collaborator on the "School of 73 Bells" single) to give his spin on the soothed tune, and his percussion injection/texture weaving comes as complete (and awesome) reinvention. Just like that, Epstein's become one of our favorite remixers. Nice one, Roberto.
