New Buddyrevelles - "I Dream Of Rodney"
Why didn't you guys tell us the Buddyrevelles were making a comeback? The Wisconsin indie pop trio first bowed with September, November in '98 and then American Matador two years later and then ... well, we thought their day jobs had got the better of 'em. Instead it was just a seven year silence. We finally heard their just-released record yesterday, and haven't heard much of anything else since; for the Buddyrevelles, Don't Quit could be a note-to-self, or a description of the album's non-stop melodic charms. Take "I Dream Of Rodney" as a scene setter, patient heart-worn chants bursting into a Built To Spill meets Ben Gibbard coda, and chase it with the sumptuous Thrill Jockey-style post-rock of "Moods Of..."

IDK; my first thought was "they ruined perfectly good instruments!" That car wash fluid must really be something. But really, the song is genius.
