New Cat Power Remix - "Hate (Pocket Mix)"

Stereogum loves Chan Marshall, whether she's channeling Van Morrison, shilling for Cingular, or hanging on a cross in a latex body suit and singing Eminem. We also love the remixes Richard from Burnside Project has done of Joanna Newsom and Antony & The Johnsons, and we heard Cat Power was next on his list.

So it gives us great pleasure to bring you an exclusive on the latest PocketMix. Richard writes:

The newest completely unauthorized and unapproved Pocket Mix. Chan Marshall's frail song about Hate. Started out with just her and a simple guitar. From there, we start on a dub journey that quickly derails into banging house, hand claps, arpeggiated synths and many more completely inappropriate things. Enjoy.
Fantastic job as always Richard. Download here:

Threatmantics are a scruffy Welsh rock trio that throw some wrinkles into the scruffy rock formula: Instead of a lead guitarist, they have a lead John Cale viola, and their drummer does double-time with a keyboard. The two guys mixing...
