New Citay - "Eye On The Dollar"

We've been enjoying the smooth psychedelics of San Francisco pop-rock troupe Citay's sophomore album Little Kingdom. As you can tell in the photo below, there are quite a few people lending their hands to the '70s redolent harmonies (a number of "ooh"'s and "ahhh"'s) and pastoral, at times Floydian compositional sense, creating a deeply lush but airy sound. Grab an extra shaker, Popol Vuh t-shirt, and breeze into "Eye On The Dollar" after the jump.

That outro guitar wail behind those Byrds-y sighs? Yes, gorgeous. If you liked the first sip, please take another with a second heady Little Kingdom track "First Fantasy." Prep yourself for the overlapping synth/guitar/vocal swirls at the finale.

These folks are good at endings. Little Kingdom is out on Dead Oceans. You can see the crew live, too.

Raleigh-via-Eau Clair BTW Megafaun debuted impressively earlier this year with Bury The Square. The trio nip-and-tuck experimental tendencies (tape splicing, white noise colliding with banjo, junkyard-laced spring reverb, screeching feedback at the tail end of a quiet back porch lament)...

Horse Feathers - "Father"

Portland songwriter Justin Ringle's evocative vocal twang and sharp lyricism are at the center of Horse Feathers' bedroom Americana. The band's second album House With No Home, which follows 2006's Words Are Dead, finds Ringle's vision fleshed out by multi-instrumentalist/composer...
