New Department Of Eagles - "No One Does It Like You"

While Ed Droste was catching ears as (mostly) one-man band Grizzly Bear with his Stereogum-beloved 2004 debut Horn Of Plenty, the other songwriting-half of present-day GB, Dan Rossen, was an album into an awesome project of his own: Department Of Eagles. Time passed, the Grizz expanded to a full-blown quartet and went on to release the everyone-beloved masterpiece Yellow House -- but D.O.E., though occasionally inactive, is still one to watch.

In fact, Rossen and Department partner Fred Nicolaus are cooking up a slew of new tunes for the long-overdue follow-up to Whitey On The Moon UK (which they released back in '03). Sorta goes without saying, but if you dig Grizzly Bear, you're gonna love this track.

My two favorite bands! Grizzly Bear and Dept. of Eagles. Whitey on the moon UK LP was the best album released in 2003. Can't wait for the new one.

If I were going to describe this song in one word, that word would be "Cavernous". "Beautiful" was a close second, but lost points for stating the obvious. Is a 2007 album release date too much to hope for?

These guys are absolutely adorable!! I could pinch their sweet, ice-cream filled cheeks!

mes·mer·ized, mes·mer·iz·ing, mes·mer·iz·es
1. To spellbind; enthrall: "He could mesmerize an audience by the sheer force of his presence" Justin Kaplan.
2. To hypnotize.
