New Dirty Projectors - "Cannibal Resource" (Live In Minneapolis)

thumbnail icon: New Dirty Projectors - "Cannibal Resource" (Live In Minneapolis)

This past Friday (3/5) Dirty Projectors performed at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, where they stripped things down here/there and performed some Bitte Orca material, including an acoustic take on previous live favorite "Temecula Sunrise" and Bitte opener "Cannibal Resource" as full-band (minus Angel and Haley Dekle) electric. Outside of the new, they also did an acoustic version of Rise Above's "Depression." I know you're likely excited to hear "Cannibal Resource," but it's also worthwhile paying attention to the acoustic takes, where the Projectors' vocal harmonies -- that thing that, at the end of the day, helps makes them especially special -- are given more space than usual to take flight.

Thanks to Minneapolis Fucking Rocks for those videos! Here's what they sound like without the visuals:

I feel like my hopes for the new album are so high they can't possibly be met. Rise Above was just too good

These dudes put out some okay albums, but their live show is where it's at.
