New Fiona Apple - "Sally's Song"

Tim Burton's spooktacular Nightmare Before Christmas is getting a 3-D makeover and theatrical re-release this month, and to compliment the visual upgrade, Burton commissioned a group of artists to cover Danny Elfman's original soundtrack. Fiona's contribution is a somber affair, with weeping strings that make it fit-for-Burton and a lyrical theme Fiona knows well: ill-fated love, expressed with disappointment and plenty of melancholy.

Fiona Apple - "Sally's Song" (MP3 link expired)

The eyeliner-friendly lineup includes Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco, Marilyn Manson, and She Wants Revenge, and the double-disc Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack is out 10/24.

Enjoy.

Beautiful song! But I hate to hear this song will be sharing space with Fall Out Fag, Panic! At The Gay Discoteque, She Wants Cock, and Marilyn Munster.

Horse Feathers - "Father"

Portland songwriter Justin Ringle's evocative vocal twang and sharp lyricism are at the center of Horse Feathers' bedroom Americana. The band's second album House With No Home, which follows 2006's Words Are Dead, finds Ringle's vision fleshed out by multi-instrumentalist/composer...
