New Franz Ferdinand - "Ulysses"

thumbnail icon: New Franz Ferdinand - "Ulysses"

For those paying attention It's been a long wait to get a followup to You Could Have It So Much Better. Last Monday we had a fan-constructed version of Tonight: Franz Ferdinand's "Ulysses," which was made using the stems available for Beatport's FF remix competition. It's no surprise that the real version isn't as melted or warped sounding. (Still, bummer.) "Ulysses," the real, debuted on NME radio today and someone made a rip. It's funky. A bit Spoon-y in its rhythm. And, yes, it sounds very FF, too.

UPDATE: Official stream at MySpace.

Tonight: Franz Ferdinand is out 1/26 via Domino.

My I-Pod is stuffed. I've decided the only Franz I need is the "Dance pt 1" by the Stones!

Wow, this is excellent. Indeed similar to their old sound, but with an obvious progression as well. This album is one I'm looking forward to.

I love Franz Ferdinand. It's a great song and I think I had to hear it a few times.

Wow! Definitely looking forward to buying their album on Jan 26th. 'Cause yeah, I'm probably the last person on Earth still buying CDs... but FF songs really deserve it, don't you think so?

Am I the only one who thinks the vocals sound a half step off at times ? It sounded better in that fan constructed version
