New Gnarls Barkley - "Crazy (The Discount Rhinos Full Control Mix)"

While we excitedly gave you a taste of "Crazy" back in October, Stereogum fully cops to dliquency on providing the latest Gnarly news. The full album has been soulfully rocking our iTunes for weeks, and since that first post we've seen St. Elsewhere go from indie-rap curiosity to record-breaking album-to-obsess-about.

No doubt by now you've heard, or tired of, "Crazy" (streaming on MySpace), the first single ever to top the UK charts on the basis of download sales alone. Usually we ignore UK chart happenings 'cause they inevitably involve Crazy of a different sort -- think animated frog/"Alex F" -- but for Misters Barkley we have nothing but congratulations.

And here's something you may not have heard. Like most remixes, it is twice as long and half as good as the original. But is it Crazy.

Gnarls Barkley - "Crazy (The Discount Rhinos Full Control Mix)" (MP3 Link Expired)

We're curious how the duo's live show is (guess Coachella/Lollapalooza will answer that), but we love that Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo don't take themselves too seriously, even as their genre-defying knob-twiddling conquers the pop charts.

And now the important question...

Which silly Danger Mouse & Cee-Lo publicity photo do you like best?

Wayne's World manages to be goofiest (and that's saying alot), so my vote goes there.

I'd have to go with Clockwork Orange, as it conveys almost the same level disturbing imagery as the film.

I'd have to say that my favorite is the Big Lebowski photo. Cee-Lo is priceless.

As much as people hated the film, I have to say I like the Napoleon Dynamite photo the best.

As much as I tried to like the remix, it just didn't work. Sounds to me like someone with no love (or, more likely, no feeling) for music remixed it.

The last one makes DM look like Craig David.
Have to agree that the Wayne's World one is my favourite.
Anyone see that 'My super sweet 16th' with that awful daughter of Cee-lo's?

The Clockwork Orange one looks like Michael Stipe dressed as Danger Mouse dressed as Clockwork Orange. My mind is totally blown.

It would be greedy to expect an entire album as good as "crazy" ... altho i'm liking Smiley Faces now. The photos are like little Ganrly children, hard to choose your favorite.
