New Kings Of Leon - "Crawl" The Followill clan's stopped having sex with models long enough to record a new album, titled Only By The Night. The fuzz-bassy first track's up and ready for download at their site for the price of one email address. The record's due out 9/23 via RCA, with a UK tour to follow in December. They're big there.

I like this track... continues their sound progression from Because of the Times, which I thought was a great leap forward. Hopefully this new album will take the best of their sound from Because and also Aha Shake and meld into something new and awesome.

I don't know why they get hated on so much on the indie music blogs. I really like them and this new track. Each album has been better than their last and i hope they continue on that trend.

Very good. Sounds like they're going back to the rougher sounds of their first two albums, which is fantastic.

secret machines are not even themselves anymore so maybe that's not a bad thing.

Terrible, almost unlistenable, garbage. I had so much hope for them after ah ha shake. I'm amazed that something this derivative is getting any positive comments here.

First 2 albums have probably been the most influential albums to me in the last 10 years. Can't fault them. Loved Because of the times, experimental, raw, loud, soft, had it all too. This album was built for the masses, sales will go through to roof, bod theme tune contracts, coke ads, background music to endless movies, teenages drama's, the hills etc etc....i think you have to go somewhere to come back...i really hope they come back fro this to the old spit and sawdust grit of YOYM. I want to love it but can't. Radio friendly yak! Its effected my enjoyment on their previous brilliance. But credit where credits due, great musicians, his voice in this album is unreal. just not my cuppa tea. best of luck to them and i look forward to album 5...i think

I agree completely with Jack. Aha Shake is classic, then Because of the Times and now this?

Can't they just go back to being Southern and not U2. Why have they decided to do this outlandish studio shit, when we all know their forte is one-take balls out rock. After listening to tracks like Crawl, it's hard for me to muster energy to listen to the oldies.

Even this album sucks, look forward to a Quit Your Job post on my blog.

They're really big there. I mean, they were one of the headliners of this year's Glastonbury. Funny (and kinda sad) how some US bands are way more popular in the UK than in their own home.

I cant understand how anybody who actualy likes music cant say anything negative about 'because of the times', that was an amazing album, in my opinion the album of 2007! - i cant understand why it didnt get better aclaim than it did, then the latest tarck crawl - seriously incredible!!! - i am a massive fan of KOL and yeah youth and young man hood & Aha shake are brilliant, but if KOL had kept putting out the same sound they would have remained static music is about PROGRESSION!! and thats what they are doing the new sound is AWESOME! - and it shows they are a band that wants to progress - and yeah they are massive in england cos we know a good band when we see one - lets face it we have a pretty good history, the stones, beatles, radiohead, Led Zeppelin!! , - all of those tallented bands progessed in the style of their sound from album to album - which is why they are now legends! - one band that started great where oasis - they kept the same sound in each album, and now really who gives a shit about them?! - if you like music you can not slate KOL - they are the new best band in the world thats currently putting out new music!

Trying to sound like U-2 is Regression.

I get a kick out of everyone slogging U2. Granted, everything after after Achtung Baby is pretty bad. But the Stones and Zeppelin released a couple albums too many as well. It doesn't take away the brilliance of their earlier work. War, Unforgettable Fire, Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby are great, classic albums which are on par with the best ever made. Of course they are insufferable now but there are very few bands who have relased as much great music and have had so many amazing live shows as they have so denigrate their post Achtung stuff all you want but don't generalize and just say U2 sucks. It makes you look stupid and uninformed.

Since when do KOL sound like U2? I am not hearing it. At all. They have done what U2 have done to stay credible and relevant. They have progressed. And in great fashion I have to say. I love the stuff I'm hearing from this album so far. Good work KOL. You guys get better with every album.

Kings of leon are the biggest band in the UK AND Ireland (stop referring to U2 as though they're from the UK, thats like saying americans are from canada)! Indie rock is probably the most popular genre of music here in ireland and UK-SO WE KNOW OUR STUFF...other genres seem to dominate american music,We're a good authority on REAL music...Kings Of Leon-amazing!! And What kind of person thinks its sad for a country to embrace a band from another, shows narrow mindedness...and someone whos undeserved of listening to great music like the kings of leon!!
