New Kooks - "Tick Of Time"

thubmnail icon: New Kooks - "Tick Of Time"

Brighton's the Kooks are just about set for the Stateside release of the follow up to the Pete Townshend beloved-Inside In/Inside Out LP. They've called it Konk. The new single "Tick Of Time" has Pritchard & Co. unplug and set their tune to a slow going reggae groove. Luke's a broken hearted sadsack in this one, but the mood is more summer day happy hour.

The Kooks - "Tick Of Time" (MP3)

Konk is out in the UK 4/14 on Virgin, and 4/15 in the US via Astralwerks. More Kookyness: You may remember we posted the "Always Where I Need To Be" video; now you can have it live:

I agree with jonny and Ryan. Kooks are music by Topshop, for Topshop.
I thought Stereogum had taste?

Probably the worst British band to ever exist. But they are very pretty.

I'm glad that everybody can make up their own minds @ Stereogum. I really like this band...so Ryan, Jonny and Simon...just don't listen to them and don't be bothered with posting rubbish 'bout them.

Awww, come on - the Kooks are always good for a nice single every now and again (Eddie's Gun and Always Where I Need To Be and a couple others are good). Not every band has to be Joy Division.

And the singer did Katie Melua, so... he's got that going for him.

Quit Your Day Job: Ungdomskulen

The Bergen trio Ungdomskulen play proggy post punk, mixing chops and hooks with a sense of humor. But they don't sound like Primus. When I was in Norway a couple years ago, "Ungdomskulen" seemed to be on everybody's lips (or...

Premature Evaluation: Beck - Modern Guilt
