New Ladyhawk - "I Don't Always Know What You're Saying"

Very cool new tune from the dust-kicking Canadian rockers of Ladyhawk. More of that Southern rock vibe -- feelgood guitar chords, palm-muted then out in the open ringing over that ride, and sort of in a constant crescendo save some mini-retreats to catch breath and begin kicking shit again. The guitars are working harder than before, too. Grab it at FADER.

The track comes from Ladyhawk's forthcoming full-length Shots, out 3/4 on Jagjaguwar. And while we're here, let's continue today's mini-theme of stuff we never got around to posting about: Here's a great one we had on tap in '07 that never made it to these pages, from last year's Fight For Anarchy:

Ladyhawk - "War" (MP3)

And a blast from the more distant past, from the band's self-titled debut.

Ladyhawk - "The Dugout" (MP3)

Ladyhawk

You may remember that last one from that good ol' 50 Bands, 50 Free MP3s post. Speaking of, that thing's worth revisiting -- most of those links are still live! Party like it's 2006. If all the Ladyhawk love's whetting your appetite to see 'em live, jump for some tour dates. As long as you live in Canada or have a valid passport.

The Constantines / Ladyhawk show I caught in March was one of my favourites of '07, can't wait to see them kick out their Crazy Horse-esq jams (with added hair-flinging) two nights in a row with BM.

Blank Dogs are actually singular: It's the insanely prolific one-man Brooklyn-based band of Mr. Blank Dog. We don't know too much about the biography of the guy behind the bedroom new-wave pop/punk and he's usually covering his face with masks...
