New Les Savy Fav - "What Would Wolves Do"

Indie rockers rejoice as today Pitchfork has a new Les Savy Fav song, specifically track 5 from Let's Stay Friends, out 9/18 on Frenchkiss. Echoes of the Strokes in the intro riff, but plenty of shredding and howling in the chorus ensures something for everyone. Listen up here. The album features cameos from friends Eleanor Friedberger, Emily Haines, Fred Armisen, and a Les Savy fan, who phoned it in.

Just over a year ago, the band headlined the Stereogum/Ice Cream Man curated kick-off to JellyNYC's McCarren Park Pool show. If you weren't there, you missed some craziness, but nothing that won't happen again this Saturday at the free Solar One gig (with Land of Talk, O'Death, Besnard Lakes) presented by Brooklyn Vegan. Bring a camera.

Here's another track from Let's Stay Friends you should already have...

Les Savy Fav - "The Equestrian" (MP3)

...and after the jump, a contender for album cover of the year.

I must be thinking about the other Eleanor Friedberger.... hey why didn't you guys cover the Fier Furnaces NY gig? I heard it was in-credible.

That "shirtless moron" as you call him is in actuality a topless savant! He has to be topless so when he enters your shirt from the front he can wear it backwards comfortably. Duh!
