New Love Is All - "Big Bangs, Black Holes, Meteorites"

thubmnail icon: New Love Is All - "Big Bangs, Black Holes, Meteorites"

There was truth in advertising in Love Is All's 2006 debut breakthrough Nine Times That Same Song, but that's fine -- it's a fun song. More recently, the Swedish quintet shifted things up with that "Darling Nikki" cover (and the other covers on the five-song tour EP), but they're back to usual form with their sophomore collection, A Hundred Things Keep Me Up at Night. We've already heard a live take of "Wishing Well." Now there's "Big Bangs, Black Holes, Meteorites," which pairs jagged guitars and speedy rhythms with Josephine Olausson's post-punk riffs on infinity, end times, and, as the album title promises, the shit that keeps her up at night. I listened pretty closely and she doesn't mention Wall Street, the failing economy, etc ... must be nice being Swedish.
