New My Brightest Diamond - "Rock N Roll Will Never Die"

Who says blog threads aren't productive? As some of our close readers may have noticed, buried in the lively discussion following the "Rock Is Dead" post, our favorite "Lucky"-covering karaoke singer Shara Worden aka My Brightest Diamond posted a link to a new song called "Rock n Roll Will Never Die." We dropped Shara a line to get the lowdown:

Ha! ... I posted it in the Sufjan "rock is dead" thread as my contribution to the discussion. I found myself with a few hours to chill out yesterday and the Muses showed up ranting about the nature of rock n roll. I had left my guitar amp at rehearsal, nevertheless, I had my casio and idrum available. In any case, I trust my feelings on the subject are clear :)
The truly rockin', thread-inspired tune, along with MBD November tour dates, after the jump.

My Brightest Diamond - "Rock n Roll Will Never Die" (MP3)

Wow, it's literally "post rock." We agree. Even without electricity, rock indeed survives! Man, that's catchy ... like she's channeling Julie Ruin in the name of Karen O, or something. If you want to make the experience even more rock 'n' roll, you can listen while watching a guitar-toting Ewok over at the MBD site. He doesn't move or anything, but he doesn't have to -- Ewoks are inherently rock 'n' roll. As are the Bangles. Maybe you can get Shara to play the tune live...

This is ok, but it's dance-rock. Not exactly helping matters...

I thought rock 'n roll died when they shut down Oink? She must not have seen that coming?

Shara has such a unique, lovely voice... but you never get to hear the extent of it it in tracks like this. She does a kick-ass cover of 'Feeling Good' live sometimes and it's amazing to hear her just let loose and belt it out.

I Thought that Rock 'n' roll music died since 1959 when Buddy holly died that time since it published the title "The Day the music died"when american rock 'n'roll music ended that year & changed into British pop music since cliff richard made his first No.1 hit single with 'Living Doll ' & the teds died since 58 along with the emerge of the rockers & mods in Britain since the 1960's.
