New My Brightest Diamond - "We Were Sparkling (Casey Foubert Remix)"

We've noticed a growing trend of icy remixes. Like, when someone gets their hands on someone else's music, they decide to coat it in icicle snares and snowflake synths, maybe some drifting guitar bursts. If the original's already icy? Well, bring on the deep freeze ... The newest in the canon is My Brightest Diamond's aptly titled "We Were Sparkling" as frosted by Crystal Skulls/occasional Pedro The Lion drummer and Sufjan Stevens bassist Casey Foubert. It was originally an iTunes exclusive for Tear It Down, the collection of Bring Me The Workhorse remixes, but here it is for your pleasure...

Wow - I saw My Brightest Diamond earlier this year for the first time when they opened for The Decemberists. They were absolutely AMAZING. Definitely worth seeing live. They opened with a very powerful 'Golden Star' ... and it just went on from there. If they were coming through here on this tour, I'd go see them again. I haven't heard the remixes so I'm anxious to listen to this - thanks!

We supported MBD last night in York, UK. They were breathtakingly good. Everyone was spellbound by them. Talented swine!
