New Nada Surf - "See These Bones"

In the two years since The Weight Is A Gift, Matthew Caws has popped up here and there, helping Adam Schlesinger and Iha on America, helping Rogue Wave on "Chicago X 12," and most certainly helping other people on non-geographically themed musical projects. But enough of the cameos: Caws and Co. are months from releasing their fifth LP and third for Barsuk, LUCKY. Which means the buzz-building process begins now with a far-in-advance trial of LUCKY, "See These Bones." No Chris Walla on production this time, but there's still a Death Cab connection in the control room: The album's helmed by both Nada and John Goodmanson (DCFC, Blonde Redhead, Sleater-Kinney), with guest performance from Ben Gibbard (among others, like John Roderick).

Track's decent; it's pretty and airy in that Nada Surf way, some nice transitions, a great bridge, etc. Fairly faint track to be the official leak, though, no?

Man i love nada surf, i like the original title for the album more, Time For Plan A. but man Let Go was one of the best albums of the last 10 years, definitely a must have for any body. The song itself is very um, winter-y if you know what i mean. i cant wait for the whole album

They're, without a doubt, the least likeliest band to have a white guy with dreadlocks in all the universe.

Saw them in Philly Saturday night and those guys are cool as shit. Hanging out with the crowd before and after, played a couple requests, apologized for not knowing this new one yet when it was requested. Just real down to earth dudes and their show kicked ass. Was awesome to see them in a place like Johnny Brenda's.

Blank Dogs are actually singular: It's the insanely prolific one-man Brooklyn-based band of Mr. Blank Dog. We don't know too much about the biography of the guy behind the bedroom new-wave pop/punk and he's usually covering his face with masks...
