New Nina Persson - "Black Winged Bird"

'Tis the season for giving thanks, so as we wind down towards our cranberry sauce and stuffing feasts, it's worth taking a minute to shine a light on the Cake Sale, a band/project/album comprising like minded artists and writers, all offering up profits to Oxfam's Make Trade Fair Campaign. And as it goes, any day our charitable impulses dovetail with a chance to bring up Cardiganista Nina Persson is indeed a good day.

"Black Winged Bird" is Nina's Cake Sale contribution, written by Emm Gryner, sung by our favorite Persson. Soft and simple, strings and a purty crescendo, a worthy download if you're putting together that tough to curate playlist for tomorrow's multi-generational pre-feast living room hang.

Other artists on The Cake Sale include Glen Hansard, Gary Lightbody, Damien Rice, Lisa Hannigan, and Josh Ritter. More info on the project here.
