Did you get what you wanted for Boxing Day? (Do you get gifts for Boxing Day?) If not, this giveaway from the rock gods Montréalais may lessen the blow. In promotion of Miroir Noir, the new Neon Bible tour documentary, Arcade Fire have made "a previously unreleased track from the Neon Bible Archives" available for free download. As suspected, "Burning Bridges" is a studio recording of "Burning Bridges, Breaking Hearts," which AF played on the Funeral tour. Except this version is instrumental. I think Win wants you to mash it with Beyoncé?

For those who care about such things, that live version of "Burning Bridges" comes from my recording of the band's Nov. 12, 2004 show at TT the Bears in Cambridge, Mass. Glad to finally hear a studio version, even without the vocals.

Dude the song is fucking terrible. Why would they even release this? It is almost identical to the song from the Hugh Grant movie Music and Lyrics, "I've been sleeping with a cloud above my bed..."
