New Seymore Saves The World - "Love Song"

Bassist Sean Neary has moved on and regrouped following his departure from Minnesota's Tapes 'N Tapes, returning to the blogs with Seymore Saves The World, another MN-based trio that sounds absolutely nothing like his last band. Digging this more than T'nT, too; Seymore Saves is two parts Ben Folds with a splash of Mates Of State, pumping out effervescent keyboard trio pop that's rockin' the burbs (figuratively; the band's booked a Midwest-Northeast tour, coming to a city near you). Here's the self-titled record's first single.

First stumbled upon these guys at the 400 Bar over a year ago. I was instantly hooked by their brand of Ben Folds-esque pop. Totally sincere and always great live, their album is solid from start to finish. I was worried they'd leave out my favorites, but they are all there -- especially "Summer 2005." Awesome.

I liked it! Upbeat, but not in an annoying way. I like the lyrics too.

I've been listening to the cd most mornings since I got it at the release party. It's not only fun, but smart and clever. It's hard not to have a little crush on these cool guys.
