New VEGA - "No Reasons"

thubmnail icon: New VEGA - "No Reasons"

Punning on Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures while painting the old black-and-white landscape a pretty sunset pink, Alan Palomo, aka Austin's VEGA (not these folks) goes for pure joy (sorry) on his Well Known Pleasures EP. Before this, the Italo-disco synthesizer gained his biggest national exposure via that controversial Crystal Castles gig, wherein the Canadian 8-bit duo came up with a 2-bit excuse for canceling their show at the Granada in Dallas, and he was forced to come up with a statement. With a song like "No Reasons," though, there's no reason VEGA shouldn't be able to put that 15-minutes in the past for this far-more pleasing 4 minutes and 12 seconds:

Uh – yeah, because the moon is known for it's beaches.

Vega is pretty awesome. Check out the songs All Too Vivid and Well Known Pleasures.

I would have just liked them out of spite for Crystal Castles, but this turned out to be a fun French-house-style song anyhow.
Wish I could make that Thursday show in Dallas.
