New Verve - "Mover"

thumbnail icon: New Verve - "Mover"

A week ago today, we posted the Verve's "Love Is Noise," the loopy single from the band's forthcoming "comeback" Forth. A ways back, we also heard Forth's opener "Sit And Wonder" (both on video and in person). This week, we offer you more of the gospel according to Richard Ashcroft via "Mover," a guitar-centered non-album track. For those of you bugged by "Love Is Noise"'s busy sampling, this is a more straight-up rocker. For those of you bugged by "Love Is Noise"'s busy sampling, you might also sit and wonder why this isn't on the album. You can go here to download, where it's available for the next seven days. (If you missed the Glastonbury set, take a look here.)

Forth is out on the band's own imprint On Our Own 8/19 in the US via Megaforce/RED and internationally 8/18 via EMI.

What is the name of the album? I've now seen it listed as:
"Four"
"Fourth"
"Forth"

It's their fourth album and it's called Forth.

The Mover is a really early verve song from 93-94, something like that. Always wondered why it was never on any album. This version all clean is a lot more poppy than the one I remember.
