New Virgins - "Rich Girls"

Mark Ronson's made a few new fans for NYC's The Virgins by spinning this track on his Authentic Shit show recently, and after some reader email we thought we'd share it with ya. Think of it as a disco-fied Strokes cut, ready-written for the next GAP ad campaign.

the reason why this band is great, prior to me even hearing them is that they took that picture in economy candy. love that place!

this could be a really amazing song song...too bad the shitty disco bass line is so weak. if this song had a really good funk bass line...wow!

That photo was taken at Economy Candy. Loved that place as a child, I stay clear of it now. Too many yummy things inside to buy.

Weird, that hi-hat is totally hard-panned over to the right. Unusual, for a modern record.

Where's the vocal melody? Nice sounds, but I want a vocal melody.

This reminds me of the time when I found out that the lyrics to The Grateful Dead's "Shakedown Street" were "Don't tell me this town ain't got no HEART...you just gotta look around." instead of Don't tell me this town ain't got no BAR...you just gotta looks around." It sucked.
