New Julian Plenti - "Games For Days"
Following "Fun That We Have," another free track from Interpol frontman Paul Banks's solo debut. It's more of an explosive post-punk track than the stuttering electro-rock of that previous single, and so a little closer to the sound of his day job than the "Fun" that he has.

Got this the other day. Sounds just like Interpol.
Score = -1
you say that like it's a bad thing.
Score = 2
Didn't mean it like that!
I'm just one of those people who thinks a sideproject is useless unless you do something different from your regular band. If not what's the point?
Score = 2
I think it is very Interpol, but not as good as Interpol would have done it. Not to be shitty about it, because it's not a bad song, but it just isn't as textured as an Interpol song; the guitars don't tangle in the same way and the rhythm section is nowhere near as imaginative nor do they offer a counterpoint to the chiming guitars in the same way. That's why I agree with you D33r that side-projects should cover different ground to their parent band, because there's no way Paul Banks could do an Interpol-esque song better than Interpol as a band.
On a similar note, that's why I'm hopeful for Julian Casablancas' project, it sounds sufficiently different to The Strokes' stuff and he's a very competent composer in his own right.
In summation, the song's not bad.
Score = 2
Casablancas is totally stealing this guy's thunder.
Score = 1
Interpol>Strokes, any day of the week.
This song is much better than the first one, having hopes for this album.
