New Kurt Vile - "Freeway" & "Beach On The Moon (Recycled Lyrics)"

thubmnail icon: New Kurt Vile - "Freeway" & "Beach On The Moon (Recycled Lyrics)"

As we already lamented, a notable act we sadly missed at SXSW is Kurt Vile. He performed as part of the jam-packed Woodsist/Todd P showcase, but the Dirty Projectors called. Next time. If you're unfamiliar, Vile plays guitar in the hardworking spacey, psychedelic War On Drugs and performs psych pop by his lonesome under his own name. Vile's Constant Hitmaker came out last year on Gulcher. It'll show up on vinyl via the reliable Woodsist label. Vile also has a new 12" called God Is Saying This To You..., which is out (and seemingly sold out) via Mexican Summer. It was pressed in a small edition of 500. If you missed out, or are late to the party, no worries: We have a track from each of the aforementioned: The aptly driving (and Tom Petty-esque, admit it) "Freeway" and the airier, sandier "Beach On The Moon (Recycled Lyrics)."

Constant Hitmaker is out via GULCHER, a vinyl version's out soon via Woodist. Mexican Summer put out the God Is Saying This To You... 12". The guy's productive: You can find out about a bunch of other releases and hear more sounds at Kurt's MySpace

Kurt Vile rules it.

However, describing "Freeway" as Tom Petty-esque is more than a little retarded.
Please explain how this might remotely be so.

Go KV!

The War on Drugs spacey and pyschedelic? Have you even listened? They sound like Dylan.
