New Most Serene Republic - "Sherry And Her Butterfly Net"
Arts & Crafts first signees to hail from somewhere outside the Broken Social Scene, the Most Serene Republic, have put the finishing touches on their second LP for the label, set for release this fall. The press blast promises the "grandiose" sound is back, with an emphasis on the band's "prog and jazz influences." Jazz-heads, sorry: the first single's got nothing for you. But ahh grandiose-heads, you are in luck -- "Sherry And Her Butterfly Net" starts with dramatic piano and goes forth with urgent indie surges, Death Cabby melodies and strings on the outro. A more fully realized cousin to "(Oh) God."

Underwater Cinematographer was decent, but they really stepped up their game with Phages - looking forward to this one.
