New Them Crooked Vultures - "Mind Eraser, No Chaser"

thumbnail icon: New Them Crooked Vultures - "Mind Eraser, No Chaser"

It's about time someone had some pun with Thelonius Monk. "Mind Eraser, No Chaser" isn't the first studio single we've heard from rock-demigod triptych Them Crooked Vultures' self-titled debut -- that'd be "New Fang" -- and it isn't the only instance of their titular wordplay (see also: "Interlude With Ludes," "Caligulove"). But it's the first of what will likely be a slew that takes advantage of the fact that Josh Homme isn't the only dude herein with the ability to carry a melody. The latest Led Stone Age Fighters single's here for a listen:

Buy the MP3 at iTunes. Them Crooked Vultures is out 11/17.

The song is also available on itunes as a free download. Search for it on itunes or click the link from the band's twitter page: http://twitter.com/crookedvultures

I think it's awesome the way these guys are hyping this album. A free song is a great way to get attention! (And it's a kick ass song, too. Grohl is definitely singing background!)

The more I hear from this band, the less I like them. Together they seem to just negate any reason you would have for caring about them in the first place. I mean, let's be honest, would we even be hearing about this song if the band weren't a supergroup? This is more boring than the stuff that gets played on the radio.

Yeah, this is so much more boring than all that awful post-grunge Nickleback type shit. Go away please, troll.

I think this is the first time I've like Dave Grohl's vocals since the first Foo Fighters album, cannot wait baby.

Considering I don't like the Foo Fighters or Led Zeppelin and I'm indifferent to most QOTSA stuff, this is better than I expected. But I agree with joe, if it weren't for the personalities behind this band I'm not sure many people would be interested.

Did someone seriously say that nickeback was better than this? Anyway, Josh is the best songwriter/ producer to come along in a while. EODM, QOTSA, artic monkies, TCV etc etc etc. Do you really need to pick apart a project with 3 awesome players just trying to write music together? These guys could write circles around any other 3 guys you put together right now, and that is why people care to hear them together, cos they're fukin awesome and not full of pop culture bullshit. Just good rock n roll. Listen and leaveit at that. Amateur bloggers are douche bags.
