New Tortoise Video - "Prepare Your Coffin"
Our first taste of Tortoise's forthcoming Beacons Of Ancestorship was the oddball 8-minute opener "High Class Slim Came Floatin' In." It would've been interesting to see what kind of video they created for it, but we'll have to wait: They've opted to do up track number two first. The pristine black and white clip was directed by Andrew Paynter and JUICE. In it a guy gathers images of beautiful buildings, geometric cables, wall patterns, etc., ostensibly looking at the transitory (us) in light of the monumental and timeless (things that don't end up in coffins).

I love how this video incorporates images that mirror the same esthetic look of the album cover. It even looks like some of the images of the wires were actually used on the cover. Love their style.
