Peter Yorn & John

Find the ubiquity of "Young Folks" a mild-to-severe irritant? Just think of poor Pete Yorn! The pervasive powers of the "Asian riff" may mean you end up in an all-day whistling fit every time you take a trip to the mall/turn on the TV/etc., but for Pete, it means having to deflect constant praise meant for Peter Bjorn & John. But at least Peter's got a sense of humor about it. Reader Steve sends us this bootleg of Pete's 7/29 gig at the Bottle & Cork in Dewey Beach, DE, during which Yorn says, "Everyone keeps asking me if this is my song, so I decided that I have to play it."

Pete Yorn - "Young Folks" (MP3)

Nice whistling, Peter Yorn. The outro "C'mo-an!" was probably unnecessary, but good on ya for having fun with it. In other PY news, Page Six reports Bruce Springsteen was "incognito in a baseball cap" during the Yorn gig at the Stone Pony last night. Wonder if the Boss man got served some PB&J. Anyway, after the jump, the greatest Bruce Springsteen video of all time.

He has been playing this song a lot this tour, I'm glad I got a recording of it. He also played a springsteen cover the night the Boss was in attendance. His set lists are posted on his website. If there is any interest in the entire show let me know and I'll upload it to yousendit or something.
