The 'Gum Drop LIX: Hear New +/- {Plus/Minus}, Win An Oasis Box Set

thubmnail icon: The 'Gum Drop LIX: Hear New +/- {Plus/Minus}, Win An Oasis Box Set

Last month we brought you +/- 's "Snowblind," a dusky, exhilarating track from the Brooklyn trio's forthcoming forth album Xs On Your Eyes (10/21, Absolutely Kosher). In this week's Drop, we offered "Reeling In The Years" (not "Reelin' In The Years," mind you), the Japanese bonus track for the collection. We also caught up with front man James Baluyut and asked him about Steely Dan, among other things. Read his responses and take a listen.

On top of the +/-, this week's newsletter offered a chance to win Oasis' Dig Out Your Soul Deluxe Limited Edition box set.

One winner gets the Oasis Dig Out Your Soul Deluxe Limited Edition box set. It looks like this:

The info:

  • Dig Out Your Soul CD
  • Dig Out Your Soul Bonus CD with 9 extra tracks
  • Dig Out Your Soul DVD (NTSC/region 0) - includes footage of the Making Of Dig Out Your Soul, The Making Of 'The Shock Of The Lightning' Video and 'The Shock Of The Lightning' Video
  • 4 x heavyweight LP Set (180 gram vinyl) of Dig Out Your Soul and Dig Out Your Soul extra tracks
  • A hardback 24 page book featuring exclusive artwork
  • Digital download of the album

You'll find the tracklist here. As always, you can keep up with the band at their official site. You need to enter to win. Speaking of which, there's still time to take home of Montreal's complete Skeletal Lamping collection. Sign up for that one here.

CONTEST ENDS 10/29/08 AT 12PM EST.

Band To Watch: Threatmantics

Threatmantics are a scruffy Welsh rock trio that throw some wrinkles into the scruffy rock formula: Instead of a lead guitarist, they have a lead John Cale viola, and their drummer does double-time with a keyboard. The two guys mixing...
