The 'Gum Drop LVII: Hear New Postmarks, Win The of Montreal Skeletal Lamping Collection

thubmnail icon: The 'Gum Drop LVII: Hear New Postmarks, Win The of Montreal Skeletal Lamping Collection

Miami pop trio the Postmarks are releasing a covers collection next month. Covers are nothing new, but the band takes it 12 steps further: By-The-Numbers collects the dozen songs from their monthly cover series, each track including a different number in the title/lyrics, the album progressing from one ("One Note Samba") to 12 ("Pinball Number Count"). In this week's Drop, we brought you number 11, a great cover of Blondie's "11:59." We asked Postmark Christopher Moll about the project and the song as well as other number songs they considered tackling, but didn't. Take a look/listen. By the way, By-The-Numbers is out 11/11 on Unfiltered.

In the 'Gum Drop, we also offered the chance to win the complete of Montreal Skeletal Lamping collection.

One lucky person gets everything: A t-shirt (you pick the design), a tote bag (ditto) plus the actual 'Gum approved Skeletal Lamping CD, LP, wall decals, lantern, and button set. That's more of Montreal gear than even Kevin Barnes owns. This is what it looks like in a bedroom setting:

And, the individual pieces.

The t-shirts:

The buttons:

The CD:

You can see the lantern and the walls decals in the room pic above. We've spoken about the Skeletal Lamping collection in the past, if you need more angles. Or, you can go to Polyvinyl for more closeups. Note: On top of all this merchandising, the band headed out on tour yesterday. Check out the dates at of Montreal's MySpace.

Enter to win. Also, there's still time to win a Magellan Roadmate 1400 GPS unit. Enter to do that here.

CONTEST ENDS 10/22/08 AT 12PM EST.

Threatmantics are a scruffy Welsh rock trio that throw some wrinkles into the scruffy rock formula: Instead of a lead guitarist, they have a lead John Cale viola, and their drummer does double-time with a keyboard. The two guys mixing...
