The 'Gum Drop LXXIII: Hear New Great Lake Swimmers, Win Simple Shoes
Toronto's Great Lake Swimmers are releasing their fourth album Lost Channels at the end of March (Nettwerk, 3/31). On it, the pristine intonations and detailed lyrical threads of Tony Dekker are surrounded by flute, guitar, drums, bass, pedal steel, other voices. See, for example, the suitably water-themed, eventual first single "Pulling On A Line," which debuted in this week's Drop. We asked Dekker about its various lines about lines. Read his responses (which involve Benjamin Franklin) while you take a listen. Also, you can catch the Swimmers on tour starting tomorrow (1/29).

I stumbled across Great Lake Swimmers a couple years ago and felll in love with the music. It's impossible to put into words what this band can make you feel. You don't just listen to this, it envelopes you and caresses you and fills your world with peace and..... well you get the picture! Looking forward to the new record!
