The 'Gum Drop LXXXVII: Hear New Sally Shapiro, Win Nixon "Master Blaster" Headphones & The Expanded Check Your Head

thubmnail icon: The 'Gum Drop LXXXVII: Hear New Sally Shapiro, Win Nixon "Master Blaster" Headphones & The Expanded Check Your Head

My Guilty Pleasure, the followup to Sally Shapiro's Disco Romance, is out in late summer/early fall. First single "Miracle," penned and produced by Johan Agebjörn and Roger Gunnarsson, is out officially via Paper Bag on 6/16, but it showed up first in this week's Drop. We asked Sally about "Miracle"'s synth storm. In part, she told us "It's the start of a letter to the lost partner, who is from France. One of those letters where you write "'It's not that I want to bring us back together'" even though that's what you want..." Find out more about the letter and possibility of lightning striking twice while you take a listen.

This week we also offered the chance to win a pair of Nixon "Master Blaster" headphones along with the Beastie Boys' remastered, expanded Check Your Head.

One Grand Prize winner gets a pair of Nixon "Master Blaster" headphones (black & silver) plus the Beastie Boys' classic 1992 album Check Your Head double LP and 2-CD set. Three Runners Up get the Check Your Head vinyl and CDs. The headphones looks like this:

You'll find more info about them at Nixon. As far as the music you'll be listening to on them, the double CD includes the completely remastered album plus b-sides (36 tracks total) and the 180 gram double vinyl features the deluxe remastered album (20 tracks total). Get more info on the collection at the Check Your Head site, where you'll also find some Beastie Boys digital trading cards like this one of Ad Rock. Stay informed about upcoming live dates at beastieboys.com. The guys back in the day:

One winner runs the board and three runners up get the music. You'll need to sign up to enter the running. There's also still time to win a Traktor Scratch Duo two-deck digital DJ hub.

CONTEST ENDS 05/20/09 AT 12PM EST.
