The xx Remix Jack Peñate
A friend was just raving about Jack Peñate's show at Mercury Lounge this week. All your friends are always raving about the xx every week. Putting the raves in a row, then, is this remix of Peñate's "Pull My Heart Away" by the xx's Jamie Smith. By Jack's hand the track soars in a Robert Smith vein; the xx believe in framing hearty sentiments more minimally, which this remix achieves by putting Peñate's voice inside an echo chamber lined with spare and twisted nocturnal dubstep transmissions.
