The 'Gum Drop CXIII: Hear New Music Go Music, Win A ZT Amplifier

thubmnail icon: The 'Gum Drop CXIII: Hear New Music Go Music, Win A ZT Amplifier

We've seen Secretly Canadian ABBA enthusiasts Music Go Music do "Warm In The Shadows" on an invented '70s talk show. This previously unreleased remix by German producer Fred Falke readies the Expressions standout for a different sort of club. MGM's Kamer Maza told us the track's "more emotionally ambiguous than the others on the record [...] so it is more reliant on the tone of the music to push it one way or the other." You can find out more about the song while you take a listen.

This week, we also offered the chance to win a ZT Lunchbox Amplifier, aka "The Loudest Little Amp In The World."

One winner gets a ZT Lunchbox Amplifier, aka "The Loudest Little Amp In The World." It fits 200+ watts and "world-class tone" into less than 10 pounds. (It retails for about $290.) After only a few months on the market, it's been endorsed by Sonic Youth, Echo & The Bunnymen, Wilco, MGMT, the Decemberists, Band of Horses. etc. As Will Sergeant of Echo put it, "It's an evil little mother -- nearly took my head off!" And the Decemberists' Chris Funk: "This thing is @#$%ing crazy! I can't believe how loud it gets...sounds killer too." It looks like this:

The details:

Since hitting the streets in February 2009, the ultra-compact ZT Lunchbox amplifier has changed the way many players think about amps. The Lunchbox has proven that an amp does not need to be big to be loud, or expensive to sound great. That you can actually gig with an amp that weighs less than 10 pounds. Doubters have become believers -- The Lunchbox really delivers.

Packing 200 watts of power, the Lunchbox has enough output for a jam or live gig, and world-class tone that has pros using it in the studio as well as onstage. Unlike any other amp close to its size, it has the muscle to handle any effects you throw in front of it, and the warmth and depth to sound great with single-coil pickups as well as humbuckers.

System Design:

  • Ultra-low latency circuit for player responsiveness
  • Pure analog front-end, with diode overdrive capability
  • Proprietary dynamic tone shaping
  • Vintage modeled tone stack
  • Class A/B output stage with unregulated linear supply
  • Ultra-high performance speaker precisely matched and tuned to the closed box

You'll find more specifications at ZT and you'll need to Enter To Win. If you hurry, you also still have some time to win a Gibson J-45 signed by each member of Monsters Of Folk.

CONTEST ENDS 11/18/09 AT 12PM EST.
