The 'Gum Drop CXV: Hear New Real Estate, Win A DJ Hero Bundle

thubmnail icon: The 'Gum Drop CXV: Hear New Real Estate, Win A DJ Hero Bundle

Busy Jersey-born favorites Real Estate slowed things down and classed them up on their excellent new self-titled Woodsist full-length. For instance, we first heard a speedier, electric "Green River" as the nugget-sized B-Side on the "Fake Blues" 7": Take a listen to the album's languid acoustic approach after you read frontman Martin Courtney's thoughts on the extended chill-out makeover.

This week we also offered the chance to win a DJ Hero bundle with game and turntable controller.

Two Grand Prize winners get the DJ Hero Bundle, which includes the game and the Turntable Controller. (The platform -- Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3, PlayStation, or Wii -- is up to the winners.) This is what comes in the DJ Hero Bundle:

We've told you about the game previously, but not in this depth:

DJ Hero invites audiences of all kinds to the party, bringing living room legends to the main stage with the newest innovation in music gaming with an exclusive 93-mix track list, created by a host of legendary DJs uniquely blending almost every genre of music including hip hop, rock, pop, R&B and dance. Featuring electrifying gameplay that incorporates the fundamentals of DJing in a fun and accessible format, and booming tracks from Rihanna to The Killers; Marvin Gaye to Daft Punk; Queen to the Black Eyed Peas, DJ Hero provides consumers an opportunity to interact and listen to music unlike ever before ... Created exclusively for DJ Hero, the turntable controller immerses fans into the DJ culture and a sea of music as they utilize and master various DJ techniques including scratching, crossfading and sampling, while leaving room for creative expression with a variety of effects and player chosen samples and scratches, transforming a face in the crowd into the life of the party.

For more information about DJ Hero, go to djhero.com. To win, you'll need to enter here. You also have a few more days to win a USB Turntable and Led Zeppelin bio When Giants Walked The Earth. You can do that over this way.

CONTEST ENDS 12/07/09 AT 12PM EST.

I actually ended up interviewing them before a free show at my college. Great band, great sound, they're excellent live and quite nice to boot.

I wish them the best and hope to see them get success (the 8.5 on Pitchfork will definitely help).

Boring music to me. They're manually looping progressions and riffs over and over again. Their lyrics and melody are uninspiring. Sorry, little dudes, but good luck next time.

sew it on, face the fool.
