The 'Gum Drop LXXVIII: Hear New Cursive, Win An iPhone 3G

thubmnail icon: The 'Gum Drop LXXVIII: Hear New Cursive, Win An iPhone 3G

Cursive's sixth album Mama, I'm Swollen hits stores next week via the Omaha band's longstanding hometown label Saddle Creek. We've heard a couple tracks, including the downcast and then flat-out poppy "From The Hips." When the band submitted their Progress Report, they told us to expect the new album to be "moodier, certainly moodier than Happy Hollow." What they didn't tell us, though, was to expect a title track that sounded like Sting. We asked front man Tim Kasher about the album and the Sting-y song. While you take a listen, read his responses about "procreation, ego, sexuality, [and] all things bruised." You can keep on live dates at the band's MySpace.

This week, we also offered the chance to win an iPhone 3G.

One winner gets a back iPhone 3G, courtesy of Santigold fiancee, Diplo associate and snowboarding champion Trouble Andrew, aka Nova Scotia-born Trevor Andrew. Accordingly, it will be loaded up with Trouble. Virgin recently released a remixed/remastered version of his 2007 self-titled ten track collection. If you're unfamiliar, here's a free download of non-album track "Run Hide," which features the aforementioned Diplo: check it out. This is Trevor:

The iPhone looks like this:

One person gets the phone, but any interested party can get more Trouble Andrew info at his MySpace and website. To get the iPhone, you need to enter here. There's also still time to win a Lomo Diana+ camera and starter kit.

CONTEST ENDS 03/18/09 AT 12PM EST.

The song was stingy, but that's okay.
