Thom Yorke Loves Liars

From that Radiohead tribute album we were getting all excited about.

rjd2 - "Airbag" (MP3 Link Expired)
Shawn Lee - "No Surprises" (MP3 Link Expired)

Still digging that Rhymefest contribuation more. You can stream the entire Exit Music tribute at AOL.

Meanwhile, checkin' in on Thom's cryptic blog, he has a new message for us. And it doesn't sound like he was crying at the keyboard when he wrote it!

Shawn Lee's take is shite, but do like the rjd2 instrumental of "Airbag". Good stuff.

the Liars album is just a bunch of droning & thumping. a bunch of moods and tones without any melodies. not my thing.

Pitchfork gave the radiohead tribute album a 0.6 rating today. With a typically cryptic "review".

I've heard the whole album and while I think a 0.6 is uncalled for, it's really not that good an album.

It's actually pretty craptastic, unless you've been dying to hear artists you respect turn in snoozetastic muzak versions of Radiohead tunes.

that liars album is dreck and puts me to sleep - more annoying "experimental" drone shite, lay off your loods boys - as boring as black dice has become, knob twiddlin that any ol' self indulgent art grad can do - please no more -if you want the real shit there's loads of krautrock from the 70s which is much much better -I know Thom loves Neu so yeah derivative krautrock like Liars is better than no krautrock these days - I suppose, really suppose

That Pitchfork douchebag would have bitched about John Coltrane's "My Favorite Things."

"What is this crazy doped-up black guy doing squawking all over that nice 'Sound of Music' show tune with his noisy saxophone. 20 minutes for one song?? Fuck!"

Pussy.

OK, OK. Paragraph 3 is un-called-for. The rest stands. :D

Quit Your Day Job: Ungdomskulen

Premature Evaluation: Beck - Modern Guilt
