Thunderegg - "(I Was An) Intern At Spin"

As someone who spent a significant part of my young life devouring issues of Spin, it's impossible to ignore the ongoing transition chaos they're going through. I'd like to dedicate this home-recorded mp3 (from a CD of 100 I got in the mail) to hoping it all works out! At the end, there's a "Losing My Edge"-style catalog of all the promo CDs the singer stole.

Largo, the "Bobby G" in the song doesn't own it anymore, so maybe it's better. then again, maybe the new owners will notice if you steal the promos.

CHUCK KLOSTERMAN was the best thing Spin had going for them. Too bad for them, he's gone now.

ah spin, what's up with my chemical romance being the readers' favorite band?

Well, with all that going on, Sia can also now concentrate more on touring for her record, huh?

I enjoyed Klosterman's pieces in the rag, even if I had to endure the endless and useless nth write-up on Fallout Boy a.k.a. My Chemical Romance.

Chuck should be ready to write a new book then too.

Damn, man.

All the great MP3's out there and you pick one with the least intersting subject matter.

Talk about a universal theme!

No wonder this site is corprate rock. It loves corporate rock.

Speaking of SPIN, do some research on the silver lake/echo park scene it spotlights this month. Post some undreground acts! Some great bands.

The Prix
Silversun Pickups

SPIN will suck w/o Klosterman. the guy's a great writer. i'm afraid that the direction the new owners want to take the mag in (aiming for a younger demo) will result in a rag that looks a lot like Alternative Press (i.e. a lot of crap cover stories on Fall Out Boy, Hawthorne Heights, Thursday, etc.). that's gonna blow!

Has anyone noticed how busted the "more cowbell" t shirt wearing bitch's face is ------>

Looks like someone smacked her in the face with a shovel. ooh, the thought of that really turns me on.

Chuck was my favorite thing about SPIN. I would make copies for him any day. Damn.

Thanks for the info on the new book though. Looking forward to it.

cool song, seriously. i wish people sent me a cd of 100 home-recorded songs, even if they were only half as decent as this.

is spin really relevant anymore? i got the internets to tell me what to listen to now.
