MP3s Of The Week

I haven't delivered any good music in a while. And I know we all want to Save Ferris Grambo. So here's what's rocking my iTunes this week:

Franz Ferdinand
The Scots play a sold-out Bowery Ballroom tonight. You'll be reading rave reviews from The Cool Kids tomorrow. Album comes out March 9.

Download: "Matinee"
From The Album: Franz Ferdinand (Domino)
For Fans Of: Interpol, The Libertines, early Talking Heads

Lambchop
This could've been a great double album. Instead, Kurt's gone all Use Your Illusion on us. Get both. $11 each at Virgin.

Download: "Steve McQueen"
From The Album: Aw C'Mon (Merge)
For Fans Of: Pernice Brothers, Jim O'Rourke, Eric Matthews

- - - - -

Scissor Sisters
They do a Bee Geefied cover of "Comfortably Numb," but the better tracks are less clubby. By the time this album drops stateside (late summer) it will be as DOA as Fischerspooner. So listen up now (import is on sale at Virgin for $19.99).

Download: "Laura"
From The Album: Scissor Sisters (Polydor)
For Fans Of: Junior Senior, early Elton John, The Darkness

Enjoy. I wanna hear your thoughts on these bands.

thanks for the scissors sisters. that song is awesome -- still not quite as good as comfortably numb.

still waiting to get my hands on the dance remix of franz ferdinand's 'take me out.' if you can get a link to bbc1's 'blue room' radio show this week, i heard it is the third song they play.

lambchop... zzzzzzzz.

franz ferdinand is definitley the next big thing. blogged lyrics and aim profile lyrics are imminent...at least they are good, though. unlike that dashboard confessional turd.

franz ferdinand for sure. i heard them a bit ago on bbc radio 1 and fell for them instantly. they do have "it band" written all over their future, which is good/bad depending on your take on the (dis)qualities of being an "it band". what-the-fawk-ever, though. they're good. i've got a number of people here in the nation's capital tuned into them.
